SRQ Celebrates a Happy Holiday Season

As the authority on living local along the Gulf Coast, SRQ | The Magazine knows that the secret to experiencing our community is through community – getting together to learn, to laugh and to grow. Each and every month, the team at SRQ produces a monthly magazine dedicated to the idea of community: the people and places that make this region special. Outside of ink on paper, SRQ Media takes the “live” part of our mission to live local seriously. Through hosting community events like SB2 and the SRQ Gala, we celebrate the way media can connect us to a place and to each other.

In the spirit of community and celebration, SRQ | The Magazine hosted our annual holiday party last week for friends and clients at SRQ Studios in downtown Sarasota. And true to form, the night was full of music, laughter, twinkling lights and delicious food. Local guitar legend Jami Gee set the perfect ambiance for the night, strumming classic holiday tunes with acoustic favorites. SRQ’s Art Director, Anthony Casto joined in the music-making while guests enjoyed a holiday inspired photo booth by Mojo Foto Booth

A delicious spread of favorites from Michael’s on East, like the ever-popular mini lobster rolls and barbecue shrimp, was the perfect compliment to conversation and cocktails. Guests generously brought donations of healthy, non-perishable snacks for the Children’s Healthy Pantry.

SRQ Media is grateful for clients and community partners that make every day a reason to celebrate! As we close out another fun and exciting year, we are moved by the reasons that the Gulf Coast is a great place to call our home: the people that make it so special.

Happy Holidays!

SRQ Story Project – Goodwill Manasota

Few organizations in our region have as powerful and broad reach as Goodwill Manasota. Committed to representing our community in a host of ways, Goodwill is highly efficient and effective at providing life-enriching work, assistive services and extraordinary opportunities for the underserved (and sometimes overlooked) members of Sarasota and Manatee counties.

This April, SRQ Magazine is pleased to partner with Goodwill Manasota as our Story Project Partner. Special articles are featured in the April edition of SRQ | The Magazine and in our daily newspaper, SRQ Daily, throughout the month that celebrate the amazing work of Goodwill in our community and inform our readers about how their donations make a huge difference in our community.

While the most common interaction with Goodwill is through donations for their numerous resale shops within the community, their mission reaches far beyond the proceeds from your once-loved clothing and furniture. Goodwill is about providing second chances through employment, services to veterans and even an educational programming teaching Spanish, computer skills, arts and crafts, and cooking.

SRQ Magazine is always on the cutting edge of innovation in marketing and helping nonprofits – like Goodwill – brand themselves,” said Veronica Brandon Miller, Vice President of Goodwill Foundation. “With the SRQ Story Project, Goodwill Manasota is able to reach a very broad audience and gives us a voice to let people know that we truly do ‘change lives through the power of work.'”

To read about Goodwill Manasota’s story of changing lives right here in our backyard, pick up an April edition of SRQ Magazine and stay tuned for more about their major initiatives on SRQ Daily throughout April.
