It is our great pleasure to announce the Keynote Speaker and Trailblazer Award Recipient for the 2018 annual luncheon and awards ceremony: Keynote Speaker Cricket Burns, Founder of CricketsCrush.com, a curated treasure trove of highly sought after furnishings, artwork and collectors’ items; and, Trailblazer Award Honoree Patti Cazzato, CEO of Timbuk2, the global handbag enterprise. Past Trailblazer Award recipients include Adrienne Vittadini (2015), Pamela Fiori (2016) and Nancy Bernardini (2017).

“We’re thrilled to host keynote speaker Cricket Burns and Trailblazer Award recipient Patti Cazzato as our honored guests,” says SRQ MEDIA CEO/President Lisl Liang. “Hear Me Roar recognizes the passion within each of us conquer the inevitable challenges in our personal and professional lives. Bio: Keynote Speaker – Cricket Burns, “The Jusher” of CricketsCrush.com

Originally from Greenwich, CT, Cricket Burns graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University and attended the University of London and La Sorbonne. With her renowned personal style and her finger on the pulse of collective fashion trends, she became an esteemed fashion editor and stylist in New York City. For three decades held high masthead positions at numerous publications including posts as fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar and Seventeen magazines, fashion director at Avenue Magazine, style director at Quest magazine and creative director at New York’s Scene Magazine. She conceptualized and styled cover shoots, fashion spreads and wrote her own monthly column “Crickets Crush” which catalogued her highly anticipated “Must Have” items.

In 2004 Burns was diagnosed with breast cancer and her husband was diagnosed 2 years later with stage four throat cancer. These terrifying dual diagnoses and two young daughters at home inspired a soul-searching break from the frantic pace of the fashion industry. At this time she unleashed her unstoppable creativity toward renovating and decorating her family’s apartment. She subsequently found a welcoming audience for her original, colorful and whimsical home décor style and a new business was born. Burns launched her website CricketsCrush.com, a curated treasure trove of highly sought after furnishings, artwork and collectors’ items. At her clients’ request, this quickly morphed into her trademark “Jushing” and staging services. Burns’ original take on this instant and unique home makeover combines the use of items that her client already has with personally curated home decor consignments from Burns’ warehouse and trade resources. The result, in as little as one day, guarantees a unique Wow-Factor with intrinsic market appeal. Burns’ web series, “The Jusher”, is currently in consideration with A&E channel. The series covers all aspects of home style; decorating, art collecting, furnishing and accessories curation, in engaging before-and-after format episodes.

While focusing her laser-chic styling and design expertise on the world of home decor, Burns also finds time to create and sell her collection of affordable diamond jewelry called, of course, Crickets Crush Diamonds on the Home Shopping Network, EVINE. She was recently featured on NBC’s Open House with Sara Gore as a top NYC based decorator filmed in her own home.

While Burns’ home décor and personal style motto has always been “A little over the top is just where I like the view best”, she keeps it down to earth in terms of making her service attainable to just about anyone in need of a home decor facelift. She believes that living in a space that is beautiful, comfortable and organized provides a sense of pride and calm that one in turn brings into the world.

Burns lives (in her entirely jushed homes) in New York City and Southampton with her husband and business partner, Richard, her two college age daughters, Manzi and India, and her beloved and ancient pug dog, Blessed.

Patti Cazzato was appointed CEO of Timbuk2 in 2014 to helm the company in its 25th anniversary year. A seasoned executive and retail industry veteran, Patti brings nearly three decades of global retail expansion, creative merchandising, product innovation and sustainable manufacturing expertise to Timbuk2.

Prior to joining Timbuk2, Patti held senior leadership positions at high-profile multi-billion dollar global brands. She launched her career over 25 years ago in San Francisco, cutting her teeth in sales and merchandising positions at Esprit, Sam & Libby and Ann Taylor before being recruited by Gap International in 1993. At Gap, she served as Senior Vice President, leading a team of over 200 corporate employees to grow the business over an eight-year period from $650 million to $1.7 billion in revenue, and from approximately 200 to 650 retail stores. In 2005, she joined Levi Strauss & Co. as Senior Vice President to reinvent the women’s line. She delivered record earnings in Levi’s Women’s Division while claiming the top market share position. She also played an integral role in the team that created Levi’s eco-line.

In 2007, Patti founded and financed Clary Sage Organics, an eco-friendly apparel line and wellness center based in San Francisco. Having toured countless international manufacturing facilities during her corporate tenure, Patti was inspired to act upon her entrepreneurial instincts and launch a company built upon sustainable manufacturing and business practices.

Patti currently resides in San Francisco with her two teenage children. In her free time, she is an avid yoga practitioner and enjoys spending time outdoors.
