The inaugural Bal Masqué Gala ushered in a magical evening of glittering masks, sweeping gowns and handsome tuxedos on stage and off at the Sarasota Opera House this past Saturday. A stunning aerial performance by the members of the Circus Arts Conservatory dazzled guests as they entered the space. Viewed from the Opera House mezzanines, the acrobats and Sarasota Orchestra brass quintet set the mood for an enchanted avant-performance reception.

Guests enjoyed an assortment of enticing bites prepared by Fête catering. The Bijou Bellini, Limone Rosmarino, and Tempesta Perfetta signature cocktails featured Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Siesta Key Rums. From the eager line awaiting each new platter of delectable Rosemary Lamb Legs, it seems this was the dish to beat. And, the ginger heat of the Tempesta Perfetta crowned it the most popular cocktail of the night.

Harlequin Club partners and their guests mingled on the third floor VIP lounge entertained by a dazzling, intimate performance by guitarist Jami G. Attendees included Relational Coaches, Wm. F. McDonough Plumbing, Premier Sotheby’s international Realty Lakewood Ranch Office, Michelle’s Ray of Hope, Action Realty of Sarasota, Seaside Bank, and guests of Gilbert and Elisabeth Waters and Charles and Valerie Dallacqua.

When the theater doors opened at 9:40 pm, guests filled the seats as the stage lit up with captivating performances by the Circus Arts Conservatory, Fuzión Dance Artists, Sarasota Cuban Ballet School, Sailor Circus Web, Lyra, and Sarasota Orchestra.

Beautiful works of art filled the silent auction tables featuring artists Olan Quattro and Michele Penn, and gift baskets featuring access to unique Sarasota events provided by Sarasota Super Boat Grand Prix Festival, Circus Arts Conservatory and Thunder By the Bay Motorcycle Festival. Silent auction proceeds and a portion of ticket sales benefitted the Circus Arts Conservatory, the Child Protection Center, Suncoast Charities for Children, and the Suncoast Science Center.

The evening drew to a close at midnight with desserts and dancing in the Opera House courtyard.
