SM2: Regional Healthcare and Aging

IMG_5550

On Thursday, January 16, SRQ magazine hosted the third event in its 2013-14 series of  SM2 breakfast symposiums on working in the healthcare and aging field. This gathering of approximately 100+ regional leaders and entrepreneurs  throughout Sarasota and Manatee County generated synergies on efforts both counties are making to support our healthcare industry. During the discussion, panelists shared their insight on the opportunity for our region to lead the discussion in aging and senior care innovation. The audience received a collaborative mix of perspectives from panelists Peter Wozniak, Robert Carter, Jonathan Fleece and Tom Esselman.

Two of our panelists provided some great feedback on the event:

“I thought the event was very informative. The panel was very diverse, and as a result, were able to address the subject matter in very different, yet both comperehensive and complementary ways. A number of people approached me afterwards with positive comments.”

– Robert Carter, President and CEO, Senior Friendship Centers

“The discussion regarding aging is timely and important given the changes occuring in healthcare. This is especially important for us at Venice Regional, given the large number of people in our community who are over the age of 65.”

– Peter Wozniak, CEO, Venice Regional Bayfront Health

The next event in the 2013-14 series of breakfast symposiums, SM2: Regional Hospitality and Tourism, takes place on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at The Francis (7:30am-9:00am). Tickets are $35/person and available online at SRQSM2.com (ticket price includes full breakfast buffet). 1. Thank you Peter, Robert, Jonathan and Tom. it was a great discussion.

  2. Thanks for hosting and continuing to give exposure to such a dynamic and relevant topic. I’m honored to have been part of the panel. We are just entering our moment to shine as geographic and demographic leaders of the movement to seize the positives from older adults.
