On Thursday, September 19, SRQ Media Group hosted the first event in our 2013-2014 series of breakfast symposiums, SM2: Regional Economic Development: Attracting Entrepreneurs, which took place at our new venue, The Francis. This gathering of approximately 100+ regional leaders, local business owners and other professionals throughout Sarasota and Manatee County garnered a very enlightening discussion about attracting and retaining individuals in our progressive entrepreneurial industry. During the discussion, we received a collaborative mix of insight from our panelists, Rich Swier, Dean Eisner, Sarah Hand and Mark Pritchett.

Two of our panelists provided some great feedback on the event:

“I am excited to see the conversation about entrepreneurship happening in Sarasota. I realize this is an absolute statement, but I believe it is true – every challenge we face as a community can be solved through entrepreneurship.”

–       Rich Swier, Founder of the HuB

“I believe that SM2 is providing a very necessary format for discussions that are essential for ‘growth by design’ of the Sarasota-Bradenton area. Overall, the attendees covered a fair sector of our population.”

–       Sarah Hand, Founder of Spark growth

We will host the second event in our 2013-2014 series of breakfast symposiums, SM2: Regional Sports Inovation, on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at The Francis (7:30am-9:00am). Tickets are $35/person and available online at SRQSM2.com (ticket price includes full buffet breakfast). We look forward to seeing you there!
