Who Said Sarasota is Dead in the Summer?
On Thursday, July 18, SRQ Media Group hosted the final event in our 2012-2013 series of breakfast symposiums, SM2: Changing Role of Foundations. This gathering of approximately 120+ regional leaders and representatives from the regional giving and giving back industries throughout Sarasota and Manatee County proved not only to be a success, but also the largest turnout thus far. During the discussion, we received a collaborative mix of insight from our panelists, Sarah Pappas, Jon Thaxton, Roxie Jerde and our moderator, Pamela Truitt, which provided a comprehensive and enlightening discussion for our attendees.
We received some great feedback from two of our attendees:
“I sincerely enjoyed the SM2 on Philanthropy, and felt it was one of the best in the series. There were great questions that many of us in the audience wanted to know -but always afraid to ask. So thank you for helping us to get the answers. ”
—Veronica Miller, Goodwill Manasota
“Today’s SM2 Philanthropy Panel was outstanding. This excellent discussion on philanthropy and the changing role of foundations was another perfect example of what happens when you combine a timely topic, a great moderator, expert panelists and a wonderful venue. CS&L CPAs is proud to support this event series as a sponsor, and I truly value the knowledge I receive as an attendee. It’s imperative we continue to raise awareness for these community issues and to candidly discuss areas of opportunity and improvement. I’m very appreciative of Wes and the entire team at SRQ Media for putting together the SM2 breakfast series.”
— Jay Clarkson, PA, Principal at CS&L CPAs
