SRQ Soars Over SRQ

SRQ’s aerophobic writer, Eric Vihlen, set aside his reservations and hopped into a small prop aircraft with Mote Marine scientist, John Reynolds, in order to scan the local seas for Manatees. The plane took off from the Dolphin Aviation port of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. The small vessel maneuvered through the sky with sharp twists and turns to provide the best aerial views of the sea creatures, documenting their eating, socializing and migrating behaviors. An airsick Vihlen held it together for the sake of journalism, getting some great information and photos of the radical experience. It goes to show that SRQ will soar to new heights to provide readers with great editorial.
